The size of the cake refers to the diameter of the cake.
The smallest custom cake The Baking House Co. makes is a 5” triple layer cake, starting price $140.
For cakes 8” or larger, we recommend triple layer cakes, so they don’t look like round sheetcakes, especially the 10”-12” cakes
Cake heights provided are based off our standard 1.5” cake layers and filling. Heights also do not include toppers added to it.
The Baking House Co. prides ourselves on our Swiss Meringue Buttercream. This buttercream does not use powdered sugar, therefore making it less sweet than the traditionally used American Buttercream used by other bakeries and bakers.
We do use of fondant, sugar paste, and modeling chocolate for accents and figurines.
We do not cover our cakes in fondant. Please visit our referrals page for other local bakers we recommend.
Tiered cakes are different sized cakes stacked on top of each other. When requesting a tiered cake, a minimum size difference for cake sizes is 2”. For example:
For cakes that require add-ons like florals, spheres, toys, on legdes, we recommend cake sizes have a 3” difference. For Example:
Inspiration photos are just that, they are meant to provide your cake artist with inspiration for color(s), theme, and aesthetic. We cannot exactly replicate cakes made by other bakers nor do we wish to. The best cakes and most fun cakes are always from the creativity of your cake artist. So place your trust in us to delivery a beautiful and delicious custom cake.

Our cake decorations vary in supplies and/or ingredients. The Baking House Co. tries to make as much, if not all decorations in house. This reduces costs for our business and the client.
Please inform us if you require a cake topper or will purchase on your own. Even though The Baking House Co. tries to do as much in house, but if the topper is out of our scope of capability, we can seek out other local small businesses to assist. As we are a small business, we love to support other small businesses.
Depending on flowers and season, we price them at the market price as they vary. We will try our best to match colors you request. The Baking House Co. uses local florists depending on availability. We safely wrap cut stems, especially if they need to be placed in the cake. Flowers may also be provided by you and we can wrap the stems To place them on your cake. If you decide to place your own florals, onto your custom cake, please keep this in mind. Fluids from stem may seep into the cake altering it’s flavor and most importantly might cause guests to become sick. We are not responsible If you choose to, or have an outside party place flowers on you cake after pick-up or delivery.

Triangle slicing or aka pie cutting slicing is the standard cake cutting for smaller gatherings or gatherings that are not a catered event where the cake is cut professionally. If this is more your way of cutting a cake, then please refer to the serving sizes on the Cake Menu page.
The Baking House Co. has conveniently provided cake cutting guides above. If you don’t mind a little mess and getting some of our tasty buttercream on your hands, please go by the lower end of the servings on each guides size to ensure you get the appropriate amount of servings for yourself and guests.
